Variables

VAR variable-name { "," variable-name ... } [ ":" type ] [ ":=" expression ] ";"

Declaring variables in Modula-3 is much like Pascal, except that the type can be omitted if an initialization expression is provided. The initialization expression <expr> need not be constant.
